These Terms govern Gloss and the Gloss+ subtitle service, operated by Super Innovation LLC. By downloading, purchasing or using the app or service, you agree to them. Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app license unless a custom EULA is supplied through App Store Connect.
Gloss plays media you are authorized to access and can create automated live subtitles using on-device or cloud engines. Output may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate or unsuitable for safety-critical, legal, medical, accessibility or emergency use. You are responsible for permission to access, play, transmit, translate and subtitle your media. We do not provide or host your media library.
Without an active Gloss+ subscription, the app allows up to five total minutes of active preview playback for each video played through the iOS player, including playback on the device, in Picture in Picture, through AirPlay or relayed through the device to a TV. Paused or buffering time does not count toward that preview, and consumed preview time is remembered when the video or app is closed and reopened. Direct Media Server URL playback handed off to Chromecast is not subject to this preview meter because the receiver plays independently. A Gloss+ subscription unlocks unlimited playback through the iOS player and premium cloud-subtitle access while Apple reports the subscription active, including an accepted Billing Grace Period.
At the start of each billing period, the service brings your premium subtitle-time balance up to a floor of 20 minutes when it is below that amount. This is a balance floor, not a fixed extra grant. Premium subtitle time is consumed while premium live subtitles are enabled, including quiet scenes and chunks already in flight. On-device subtitles do not consume premium time.
The exact price, period, offer and renewal terms are shown by Apple before purchase. If an eligible introductory free trial applies, there is no subscription charge for that trial period; otherwise payment is charged to your Apple Account when confirmed. After any free trial, subscriptions renew automatically at the displayed price unless cancelled through Apple before renewal. Manage or cancel with the app’s “Manage Subscription” button or Apple subscription settings; cancellation generally takes effect at the end of the current access period.
Additional premium subtitle time requires an active subscription and is a consumable in-app purchase. The amount is shown before purchase. Except where law or Apple policy requires otherwise, it is non-transferable, has no cash value, can be used only with the bound Gloss account, and used time is non-refundable. If Apple refunds or revokes a purchase, its unused grant may be removed, which may produce a zero or negative balance until more time is added.
The server ledger is authoritative for grants, spends, refunds and remaining time. The same Apple transaction is credited only once.
“Restore Purchases” asks Apple for current entitlements and unfinished transactions for the Apple Account signed in on the device. A consumable already credited and finished may not be restorable as a new Apple purchase; remaining value is maintained in the account-bound service ledger. Apple controls billing and refund decisions. Refund requests normally must be made through Apple.
Gloss may use an App Account Token and App Attest to bind purchases and prove genuine-app requests. You must not evade, disable, forge, replay, automate, probe or interfere with purchase verification, attestation, rate limits, account binding or other security controls.
We may suspend access, revoke sessions or block accounts or devices where reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, abuse, security harm, legal exposure or material breach.
The service depends on networks, Apple, speech providers, hosting and your media source. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, a particular provider or language, or perfect recognition. We may change providers, features, limits or technical requirements, subject to applicable law and App Store rules.
The app, service, software, branding and documentation belong to us or our licensors. You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use them under the App Store license and these Terms. You retain rights in content you lawfully provide and grant us and our processors the limited rights needed to process it to provide, secure and support the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app and service are provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness, accuracy, availability or non-infringement. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages; lost data, media access, profits, opportunity or goodwill; inaccurate output; third-party services; or unauthorized use beyond our reasonable control. Aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of what you paid for Gloss through Apple during the preceding 12 months or the minimum required by law. These limits do not apply where prohibited.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where the operator is established, excluding conflict-of-law rules, while mandatory consumer protections and jurisdiction rules in your residence continue to apply. Before filing a claim, contact subo.sui@gmail.com and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve it.
We may update these Terms for legal, security, operational or product reasons. We will post a new effective date and provide additional notice when required.
